Cody Johnson has unveiled a studio version of the beloved song “Travelin’ Soldier,” released through CoJo Music/Warner Music Nashville. This highly anticipated release comes just ahead of Veterans Day, as Johnson, a dedicated supporter of the military and first responders, aims to pay tribute to their bravery and commitment during both wartime and peacetime.
Reflecting on the song’s popularity, Johnson shared, “It’s been three years since we released an acoustic cover of ‘Travelin’ Soldier.’ The fans responded so enthusiastically and began requesting it during our live shows so it’s remained on the set list. I had no idea that it was going to give me the opportunity to hear, see, and bring words to y’all’s stories. I knew at some point, when the time felt right, we needed to record it in the studio. And that time is now, COJO Nation!”
In addition to this new release, Johnson’s current radio single, “The Fall,” is gaining traction and serves as the second single from his Leather Deluxe Edition album. This track was co-written by Bobby Pinson, Jeremy Stover, and Ray Fulcher, contributing to Johnson’s growing discography.
The multi-talented artist is also in the spotlight as he gears up for the 59th Annual CMA Awards, where he has received four nominations, including his first-ever for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and two nominations alongside Carrie Underwood for Music Event and Video of the Year for their hit duet “I’m Gonna Love You.” The CMA Awards ceremony is set to take place live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 19 and will be available for streaming the next day on Hulu.
Although Johnson had to cancel the remainder of his 2025 tour due to a ruptured eardrum, he plans to resume touring in early 2026, featuring an impressive lineup of guests such as Clint Black, Randy Houser, Kip Moore, and Jon Pardi on select dates. This marks an exciting time for Johnson and his fans as they look forward to new music and live performances that celebrate both his artistry and support for the military.
