Chicago Bulls guard Coby White is set to make his season debut on Sunday against the Utah Jazz, as confirmed by the team and reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. Bulls beat writer K.C. Johnson relayed that while White will play on Sunday, he will not participate in Monday’s back-to-back game.
The 25-year-old combo guard has been sidelined since mid-August due to a right calf strain, with a setback during the preseason affecting his preparation for the new season. Despite White’s absence, the Bulls have maintained a competitive start with a 6-5 record so far in the 2025/26 season. Last season, White averaged an impressive 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds over 74 games.
During recent practices, both White and Oklahoma City’s Josh Giddey, who is dealing with a right ankle sprain, participated fully, engaging in contact drills. White indicated that he anticipates being on a minute restriction of around 24 minutes per game upon his return.
Looking ahead, White will become an unrestricted free agent next summer, with discussions around a potential extension not expected to take place before then. However, both White and the Bulls have reportedly maintained a positive relationship and are optimistic about reaching an agreement in 2026.
This return adds a hopeful note for Bulls fans eager to see how White’s scoring ability and playmaking will enhance the team’s performance as they strive for success this season.
