Martin Kove was removed from the Washington State fan convention this past weekend following an incident involving fellow “Cobra Kai” cast member Alicia Hannah-Kim. Reports indicate that Kove allegedly bit Hannah-Kim’s arm, leaving a noticeable mark, and then kissed the injury when she reacted in pain.
According to the Puyallup Police Department’s report, Hannah-Kim recounted the incident to an officer present at the Summer Con event, stating that Kove grabbed her arm after she greeted him. She and her husband confronted Kove about his actions, asserting that they were unacceptable, to which Kove reportedly reacted with visible anger, claiming he bit her “for fun.”
The responding officer informed Kove that his actions constituted a crime, advising him to remain at the venue until the situation could be addressed. Although Hannah-Kim opted not to press charges for simple assault, she requested that a report be documented, including statements from both her and her husband, and photographs of the injury, which was described as bruised and turning blue.
Following the confrontation with police, Kove appeared to understand the gravity of the situation, offering apologies to Hannah-Kim and her husband. He was ultimately instructed to leave the event, with a warning to refrain from such behavior in the future.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting personal boundaries, especially in public settings. The proactive choice by Hannah-Kim to document the incident demonstrates a pragmatic approach to a troubling situation, empowering individuals to speak up against unacceptable behavior.
