George Clooney made a notable appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, sharing exciting news about the potential future of his Broadway play, Good Night, and Good Luck. The actor hinted that there are plans for a roadshow of the play, with a possibility of it concluding in London. Clooney stated, “There’s going to be a roadshow for it, and I think it might end up in London, but it won’t be the same thing as what we’re doing now.” A representative from the production confirmed his remarks, adding credence to his announcement.

Good Night, and Good Luck, which Clooney co-wrote with Grant Heslov, is based on their acclaimed 2005 film. The play premiered at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre on April 3 and has since been recognized with five Tony Award nominations, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Clooney himself. Since its debut, the production has been a financial success, consistently outperforming box office records and grossing over $4 million weekly.

The final performance of Good Night, and Good Luck is set for June 8, just before the Tony Awards, but audiences can catch a live broadcast of its second-to-last performance on CNN and CNN International on June 7 at 7 p.m. ET. This special event will also be available for streaming on CNN.com and through CNN’s apps.

The story centers around the real-life confrontation between CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow, played by Clooney, and Senator Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare, highlighting the significant impact of media during that era. Although there is uncertainty about whether Clooney will join the play if it travels to London, he expressed his eagerness to retire the character hairstyle soon after the final performance.

This potential expansion of Good Night, and Good Luck signifies a strong trajectory for the play, which has already made an impressive mark on Broadway. Fans of both Clooney and theatrical performances can look forward to possibly experiencing this insightful narrative beyond New York.
