Cleveland’s Sports and Music Sweethearts Get Engaged!

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell has announced his engagement to Grammy-winning R&B singer Coco Jones, sharing the special moment with fans through an Instagram post. The announcement includes a heartfelt video of Mitchell proposing to Jones, set against the backdrop of her romantic song “You.” Jones also celebrated the occasion with a post on her social media accounts.

The engagement has garnered congratulatory messages from several prominent figures, including WNBA star Candace Parker and R&B artist Ella Mai, who is in a relationship with Boston Celtics guard Jayson Tatum.

While Darius Garland was celebrated during the Cavaliers’ game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Mitchell’s personal milestone took center stage this week. The couple’s relationship first became public in February, though they were linked as far back as September 2024, when they were seen together at an Usher concert in Las Vegas.

On the court, Mitchell had a standout 2024-25 season with averages of 24.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while leading the Cavaliers to an impressive 64-18 record, the top in the Eastern Conference. Following their playoff exit, he hinted at going on tour, potentially joining Jones as she promotes her debut studio album.

This joyful engagement mark not only a significant personal milestone for the couple but also showcases the intersection of sports and entertainment, highlighting how both Mitchell and Jones continue to shine in their respective fields.
