CLEMSON — No. 9 Clemson football achieved a commanding victory over Virginia on Saturday, finishing the game with a score of 48-31 at Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers, similar to last week, had a slow start offensively but eventually found their groove, taking down the Cavaliers (4-3, 2-2 ACC). This marked the first time Clemson trailed at home this season, but they fought back strongly, thanks in part to a strong defensive showing. With this win, Clemson (6-1, 5-0) extended their winning streak to six games and spoiled Cavaliers coach Tony Elliott’s homecoming.
Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik did not have his best performance, recording three touchdown passes alongside one interception. However, wide receiver Antonio Williams stood out by scoring both a passing and a rushing touchdown. On the defensive front, Clemson secured one turnover and tallied four sacks.
The Tigers will take a break next week before gearing up to host Louisville on Nov. 2 at Memorial Stadium.
