The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District is set to enhance the HVAC systems at Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary and Middle School through an important upgrade project. Bids will be accepted either in person or via overnight delivery until 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the district’s administrative office located at 4244 Bullfrog Road, Cle Elum, WA. Late submissions will not be considered, and the bids will be publicly opened by district staff. Results of the bid opening will be shared publicly within 48 hours. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder on a lump-sum basis, although the school district retains the right to reject any or all bids or to overlook informalities in the process. Notably, bids cannot be withdrawn for a period of 30 days following the opening without the approval of the Owner.
An optional pre-bid walkthrough for contractors will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the school’s location. Subcontractors are welcome to join this walkthrough.
This project is significant as it aims to retrofit the current heating system, which uses a hot hydronic water system that serves ducted fan coils, to include cooling capabilities without changing the existing duct distribution. The proposed solution from Meier Architecture and Engineering involves installing a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system. This new system will integrate seamlessly into the existing Building Management System. The contractor selected will be required to adhere to local standards alongside ASHRAE, SMACNA standards, and the Washington State Energy Code.
