Thirty-two players are competing in the Divine Contractors Southern Billiards and Snooker Association of Fiji Open tournament, taking place at the historic Merchants Club in Suva. The event commenced yesterday and is set to conclude with the finals tomorrow.

This year’s tournament has garnered significant attention, showcasing a remarkable blend of youth, experience, and undeniable talent. David Ratnam, President of the SBSAF, expressed enthusiasm about the diverse and powerful lineup, noting that it’s a rare sight to witness the raw skill of emerging players face off against the cunning precision of seasoned veterans. Ratnam emphasized that the tournament serves as an important platform for the growth of the sport, benefiting both spectators and players alike.

The format of the tournament is designed to challenge players, featuring a full set of 15 reds and employing the “3 Foul and Miss” rule to ensure high standards of play. Participants are competing for a total prize pool, with the winner receiving $400, the runner-up $200, and additional cash prizes for both semi-finalists and quarter-finalists.
