In less than a year since becoming a father, Christian McCaffrey, the San Francisco 49ers running back, shared that his daughter, Colette, has profoundly transformed his perspective on life. McCaffrey and his wife, Olivia Culpo, welcomed their first child in July 2025, and the NFL star expressed immense joy about fatherhood in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.

“It’s the best, man,” McCaffrey said, reflecting on the impact Colette has had on him. “Good day or bad day, you come home and seeing her smile takes all the pressure off. It takes all the worries of life away. It’s been the biggest blessing in our life.”

As McCaffrey adjusts to his new role, he observed the joy of watching Olivia embrace motherhood. He noted how the couple shares similar values in parenting, which has made it an effortless process. “As a girl dad, you definitely get softer. I don’t care what anyone says,” he added, illustrating his softer side as he navigates the joys and challenges of parenthood.

Beyond his family life, McCaffrey is committed to giving back to the community. He recently collaborated with Intuit to host a Financial Literacy Forum for high school students in the San Francisco area, emphasizing the importance of financial education that he felt was lacking in his own schooling. “It was so easy for me because I’m envious they get to do this,” he admitted, excited about the opportunity to assist adolescents at such a pivotal moment in their lives.

Reflecting on his early career, McCaffrey acknowledged that when he was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2017, he was primarily focused on football and not his finances. He stated that his father advised him to be careful with his money, leading him to prioritize saving and enlist a financial advisor early on. This wisdom has served him well throughout his career, including recently signing a lucrative two-year, $38 million contract extension with the 49ers.

In addition to his thriving professional career, McCaffrey’s dedication to family and community highlights a balanced approach to life, showcasing that despite the pressures of the NFL, he places significant value on personal growth and contributing positively to the world around him.
