Choi, who debuted in 1975 with the play “The Life of an Actor,” had a prolific career spanning nearly 50 years. He initially gained recognition as an announcer for Dongyang Broadcasting, later transitioning to notable films such as “Two Cops,” “Public Enemy Returns,” “Lady Vengeance,” and “The Drug King,” among others. Despite not being a prolific actor, Choi’s ability to command the screen whenever he appeared earned him deep respect from audiences. He spoke about his first marriage and subsequent divorce, expressing his initial reluctance to marry in his thirties, which he described as rushed. He also reflected on his second marriage and the challenges he faced with his former wife, noting that their relationship ended during difficult times, leading to their divorce.

Choi then found love for the third time, describing his wife as “the best.” He shared that they had dated for four years before getting married and highlighted her youthful spirit, being 11 years his junior.

Choi Jung-woo’s agency confirmed his passing at the age of 68, though the cause of death has not been disclosed. His funeral is set for the 29th at a hospital in Gimpo, where family, friends, and fans can pay their respects.
