The Chinese Embassy has introduced a commemorative envelope to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Fiji. This special cover features cultural and national symbols emblematic of both countries, showcasing the panda, a cherished icon of China, alongside Fiji’s Koki, or Maroon Shining Parrot, a representation of the nation’s vibrant biodiversity.
In a recent statement following the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee, Chinese official Wang Yuan highlighted the significance of the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). He described it as a pivotal phase for laying the groundwork necessary for advancing socialist modernization and fulfilling national aspirations.
Wang reaffirmed the Chinese government’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its citizens while enhancing openness to the international community. “We will unswervingly expand high-level opening-up, share development opportunities with the rest of the world, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity,” he declared, underscoring China’s dedication to fostering strong relations with Fiji.
