Allison Payton, a 17-year-old from Chillicothe, has been crowned Miss Ohio’s Teen, securing a $2,500 scholarship in the process. The competition took place in Mansfield on June 18, featuring 18 talented contestants.
Cassie Mattson, representing Columbus and a high school graduate set to attend Ohio State University, earned second runner-up honors, along with a $900 scholarship. She showcased her skills through Irish dancing and excelled in the interview portion.
The event included various segments such as health and fitness, talent, interview, evening wear, and on-stage discussions, all organized by the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program, a nonprofit organization.
Other notable placements included:
– First runner-up: Aly Kramer, Miss Maple City’s Teen from Sagamore Hills, who received a $1,000 scholarship.
– Third runner-up: Maria Pitchford, Miss Northern Ohio’s Teen from Cincinnati, awarded an $800 scholarship.
– Fourth runner-up: Chloe Maybin, Miss Buckeye State’s Teen from Wheelersburg, awarded a $700 scholarship.
– Special awards included the Be Real Award received by Miss Mansfield’s Teen Abigail Kern, along with a $100 scholarship, and the Paul Herlihy Memorial Award given to Miss Chillicothe’s Teen Lindi Flaig from Piketon, who earned a $250 scholarship.
Looking ahead, the Miss Ohio competition will kick off on June 19, culminating with the finals on June 21. The winner will have the chance to compete at the prestigious Miss America competition in January and will receive a $10,000 scholarship.
