Popular Tex-Mex restaurant chain Chili’s has announced that all its locations will close for 24 hours on Christmas Day to allow its employees to spend quality time with their families and friends. This decision marks a break in routine for a chain that typically operates seven days a week, known for its beloved offerings, including burgers, crispers, burritos, and specialty Margaritas.

Diners looking to satisfy their cravings can still visit Chili’s on Christmas Eve, when restaurants will maintain normal operating hours. After the holiday closure, the outlets will reopen their doors to customers on Boxing Day, ensuring that guests can enjoy their favorite meals shortly after Christmas.

Chili’s is not alone in this holiday closure trend. Other major restaurant chains, including Chick-fil-A and Olive Garden, have also announced their plans to close for a day, with fast food giant Taco Bell joining the ranks. Cracker Barrel has confirmed its own closure over the Christmas holiday, but to accommodate customers, it is offering a selection of festive meals for those hosting gatherings. Their family dinners include options like the Prime Rib Heat n’ Serve and Holiday Ham Heat n’ Serve, available for groups of four to ten, and priced between $114.99 and $174.99.

As Christmas approaches, it is encouraging to see restaurants opting for employee well-being while still providing alternatives for those who need to keep the holiday spirit alive. Whether it’s by securing a festive meal from Cracker Barrel or enjoying a meal at Chili’s before their closure, customers can still find ways to celebrate with food during this special season.
