Rather than the classic and calorie-laden ingredients that usually characterize this dish, Salas opted for healthier alternatives, leading to mixed reactions from her followers.

While traditional chilaquiles typically contain fried tortillas, sauce, cream, cheese, and onion, resulting in an average caloric content of 350 to 500 calories, Salas’s approach significantly lowers those numbers. Her version features baked totopos and alternative toppings, bringing the calorie count down to around just 100 calories. Even when adding two fried eggs, which add 180 calories, her creation remains far less caloric than the traditional dish.
