Cheryl Hines’ close friends had cautioned the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress against marrying Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a man with a history of infidelity and a failed presidential bid. Friends expressed confusion over her decision to wed the controversial Kennedy, especially in light of revelations about his past affair with political reporter Olivia Nuzzi in 2014.
In his 2015 biography, “RFK Jr.: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Dark Side of the Dream,” author Jerry Oppenheimer remarked on Kennedy’s relationships, stating, “Any woman who gets involved with Bobby does so with her eyes open, or their brains lopped off.” He highlighted that any woman hoping to change him was misguided. Oppenheimer, who was present at Hines’ and Kennedy’s wedding, noted that some guests were perplexed by Hines’ choice given Kennedy’s notorious reputation for womanizing.
Oppenheimer emphasized the need for women to understand what they are engaging in when involved with Kennedy, acknowledging his long-standing history of infidelity. Even before their marriage, Kennedy faced allegations of cheating, including a relationship with socialite Chelsea Chapman Kirwan.
Kennedy has a total of six children from two previous marriages, the first to Emily Ruth Black and the second to Mary Richardson, who tragically took her own life in 2012. Reports suggest that Richardson kept a journal detailing Kennedy’s extramarital affairs.
Hines, 58, has a 20-year-old daughter, Catherine, from her previous marriage to Paul Young. Oppenheimer’s biography also mentioned that Larry David, Hines’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator, had once told Kennedy, “Nothing you do will ever rattle her.” Time will tell how Hines will respond to the latest allegations against Kennedy.
