Chelsea’s Pursuit of RB Leipzig Star Xavi Simons Heats Up Amid Transfer Shake-up

Chelsea is reportedly keen on securing RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons, valued at €65 million, as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Romano stated, “Xavi Simons is a player Chelsea really like and appreciate internally, and so he remains an option for Chelsea.” This aligns with the club’s strategy to strengthen their attacking options, as they aim to incorporate up to nine attackers into their squad for the upcoming season.

The Blues have already made three attacking signings in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens, but still seek additional firepower, especially following the departures of Noni Madueke to Arsenal, alongside Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix who are both expected to leave. Simons has emerged as a viable candidate, especially since he scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 33 appearances last season.

Additionally, Chelsea is also pursuing a left-sided defender to improve Enzo Maresca’s squad. Interest in other attackers like Mohammed Kudus, who has joined Tottenham, and Hugo Ekitike, closing in on a move to Liverpool, further signifies Chelsea’s push to diversify their attacking lineup.

Moreover, while Simons is a primary target, Chelsea’s dream signing seems to be Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. Although Villa has indicated he is not for sale, reports suggest a potential deal could be negotiated for around £80 million.

As Chelsea continues to navigate the transfer window, fans can remain optimistic about the club’s intent to bolster their squad with versatile and talented players like Simons, who fits their attacking style well.
