Chappell Roan confronted a photographer she claimed had been disrespectful during a recent red carpet event. This incident occurred at the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour on Friday night. While taking photos, Roan identified the photographer from a prior negative interaction and approached him directly, stating, “You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys.”
Footage captured Roan pointing at the photographer and expressing her frustration. “You yelled at me at the Grammy party. Yes, I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that. You need to apologize to me,” she asserted. However, before she could elaborate, she was guided back to the red carpet by event staff.
This incident is not the first time Roan has had a heated exchange with paparazzi. In September, she responded to a photographer who had yelled an expletive at her before her performance at the 2024 VMAs, telling him, “No, you shut the f*ck up. Not me, bitch.” This moment also gained significant attention when it went viral.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Roan shared that her experiences with newfound fame have been “quite overwhelming and quite scary.” She expressed that the chaos of the red carpet often triggers her anxiety, leading to her outbursts.
Chappell Roan attended the premiere alongside Olivia Rodrigo, having previously opened for her during the SOUR tour and at select GUTS tour dates. At a concert in Los Angeles in August, Rodrigo had Roan join her on stage as a surprise guest to perform Roan’s song “Hot To Go.” Rodrigo praised Roan, calling her “one of the most singular, inspiring, powerful artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.”
