Chappell Roan addressed a photographer during a recent red carpet event, confronting him about a previous unpleasant encounter. The incident occurred on October 25 at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s “Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour,” set to stream on October 28.
While appearing on the red carpet, the singer-songwriter recognized the photographer and pointed him out, stating, “You,” before walking up to him. She expressed her displeasure, saying, “You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys.” Although the photographer was not visible on camera, Roan continued, “You yelled at me at a Grammy party. I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that … You need to apologize to me.”
Roan, who has performed with Rodrigo and served as an opening act for her shows, has a history of standing up for herself. Last month, she confronted another photographer at the VMAs who had yelled at her, replying, “You shut the f— up,” while defiantly waving her finger.
In an interview on the red carpet for the premiere, Rodrigo praised Roan, saying, “She actually gives me so much advice on taking care of myself and being me in an industry that’s so overwhelming sometimes. I really appreciate her. If I give her any advice, I’m not so sure. But I get a lot from her.”
Clips of Roan’s confrontation with the photographer have begun circulating on social media.
