Chappell Roan confronted a photographer with whom she had an unpleasant experience at the Grammy Awards during the red carpet event on Friday, October 25.
At the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s film “Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour,” set to stream on October 28, the singer-songwriter known for her song “Good Luck, Babe!” recognized the photographer and pointed at him, stating, “You,” before walking over to address him directly.
Roan expressed her displeasure, saying, “You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys,” during a moment that was captured in clips circulating on social media the following day. Although the photographer was not visible in the footage, Roan continued, “You yelled at me at a Grammy party. I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that … You need to apologize to me.”
Chappell Roan has previously shown her willingness to assert herself when faced with disrespect; at last month’s VMAs, she clapped back at another photographer who told her to “Shut the f— up,” by retorting, “You shut the f— up,” while maintaining her composure.
During the red carpet event, Olivia Rodrigo praised Roan, commenting in an interview with Billboard, “She actually gives me so much advice on taking care of myself and being me in an industry that’s so overwhelming sometimes. I really appreciate her. If I give her any advice, I’m not so sure. But I get a lot from her.”
