Chappell Roan addressed a photographer with whom she had an uncomfortable interaction during a previous event at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s “Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour” film on Friday, October 25. The film is set to stream on October 28.
While on the red carpet, the singer-songwriter, known for her song “Good Luck, Babe!”, pointed at the photographer and confronted him directly. She stated, “You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys,” with clips of the exchange circulating on social media shortly after.
Roan recounted how the photographer had yelled at her during a Grammy party, expressing her feelings and demanding an apology. “I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that … You need to apologize to me,” she insisted.
Roan, who has a history of asserting her boundaries, had previously confronted another photographer at the VMAs last month. When that individual told her to “Shut the f— up,” she fired back, “You shut the f— up,” while pointing her finger and adding, “Not me, b—-.”
On the red carpet during the premiere, Olivia Rodrigo praised Roan in an interview with Billboard, highlighting the support she receives from her. “She actually gives me so much advice on taking care of myself and being me in an industry that’s so overwhelming sometimes. I really appreciate her,” Rodrigo said. “If I give her any advice, I’m not so sure. But I get a lot from her.”
A clip of Roan’s interaction with the photographer from Friday has been shared widely online.
