Chappell Roan addressed a photographer she recognized from a past uncomfortable encounter on the red carpet during the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s “Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour” film on October 25. The film is set to stream on October 28.
As Roan arrived at the event, she pointed at the photographer and directly confronted him, stating, “You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys.” Footage of the incident circulated on social media the following day. Although the photographer was not visible in the video, Roan continued, “You yelled at me at a Grammy party. I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that … You need to apologize to me.”
Roan has previously made headlines for speaking out against disrespectful behavior in the industry. Last month at the VMAs, she responded assertively to another photographer who told her to “Shut the f— up,” with Roan retorting, “You shut the f— up,” and added, “Not me, b—-.”
During the same premiere event, Olivia Rodrigo praised Roan in an interview with Billboard, saying, “She actually gives me so much advice on taking care of myself and being me in an industry that’s so overwhelming sometimes. I really appreciate her. If I give her any advice, I’m not so sure. But I get a lot from her.”
