Championship Weekend: Colorado Boys Soccer Finals Set to Thrill!

The schedule for the 2024 Boys Soccer State Championships has been finalized following an exciting round of semifinals across Colorado. The semifinals took place on Wednesday night at various venues including University of Denver’s CIBER Field, Trailblazer Stadium, North Area Athletic Complex, and the University of Northern Colorado’s Jackson Stadium, determining which teams will compete for the state titles this weekend in the 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A categories.

Due to a scheduling conflict with the Switchbacks’ Western Conference Finals, the finals for the 2A and 4A divisions will now be held at Switchbacks’ Weidner Field in Colorado Springs on Friday evening. The finals for the 3A and 5A divisions are set to take place on Saturday at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.

The championship matchups are as follows:
– **2A Final**: No. 2 Forge Christian vs. No. 4 Salida at 4 p.m. on Friday.
– **4A Final**: No. 1 Mullen vs. No. 3 Air Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
– **3A Final**: No. 1 Holy Family vs. No. 2 Jefferson Academy at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
– **5A Final**: No. 3 Broomfield vs. No. 4 Cherry Creek at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

In the 5A semifinals, No. 4 Cherry Creek made an impressive showing, defeating top-seeded Northfield 1-0 and earning a spot in the finals against No. 3 Broomfield, which won against No. 2 Boulder with a score of 2-1. The 4A semifinals saw No. 1 Mullen continue its strong run by overcoming No. 5 Silver Creek 1-0, and they will now face No. 3 Air Academy, who bested No. 2 Battle Mountain 3-2. In the 3A semifinals, No. 1 Holy Family triumphed over No. 5 Roaring Fork with a score of 3-0, setting up a clash with No. 2 Jefferson Academy, which edged out No. 3 Peak to Peak 2-1. Lastly, in the 2A category, No. 2 Forge Christian secured a 3-0 victory against No. 3 Crested Butte to advance to face No. 4 Salida, which surprised the top-seeded Denver Christian team with a 1-0 win.
