Glen Powell’s new Hulu series “Chad Powers” has an official release date set for September 30. This comedy series, lasting 30 minutes per episode, will kick off with a double episode premiere. Powell plays the lead character, Chad Powers, who is a talented quarterback that, after facing expulsion from his college due to behavioral issues, attempts to infiltrate another school’s football program under a false identity.

The storyline follows Powers as he adopts the persona of an affable quarterback hoping to revive his career by joining a struggling Southern football team. The series is co-created and co-produced by Powell through his company Barnstorm Productions, alongside Michael Waldron, known for his role as executive producer and writer of the hit series “Loki.” The premiere episode has been co-written by Powell and Waldron.

Eli Manning, the former New York Giants star, is also involved as an executive producer, alongside his brother Peyton Manning under Omaha Productions. The series draws inspiration from a 2022 NFL Films sketch where Manning went undercover as Chad Powers, participating in tryouts for the Penn State football team.

In addition to Powell, the cast includes notable actors such as Steve Zahn, Toby Huss, Perry Mattfeld, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Quentin Plair. The direction of the series will be led by Tony Yacenda, who also serves as an executive producer.

This upcoming series promises a mix of humor and sports drama, showcasing Powell’s versatility as an actor. Fans can look forward to his next role in Edgar Wright’s adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Running Man,” reflecting his increasing prominence in the entertainment industry.
