LAS VEGAS — At CES 2026, Nvidia has unveiled significant advancements in robotics, positioning itself as a leader in the drive to integrate humanoid robots into various industries. During a keynote presentation, CEO Jensen Huang highlighted that numerous companies, including Boston Dynamics, Caterpillar, LG Electronics, and NEURA Robotics, are leveraging Nvidia’s robotics technologies to develop their robotic systems.

Nvidia believes that physical AI has the potential to transform the $50 trillion manufacturing and logistics sectors, and the company aims to be at the forefront of this movement. The firm introduced several new AI models designed to aid robots in navigating and interacting with their environments, as well as showcasing the necessary hardware that powers these advanced systems.

In addition to humanoid robotics, Nvidia presented a groundbreaking suite of AI models for self-driving vehicles, dubbed Alpamayo. This new model employs a chain-of-thought reasoning-based vision language action (VLA) framework, enabling it to recognize and respond to unique driving scenarios that may not occur during typical operations. For example, if a traffic light malfunctions at an intersection, Alpamayo can identify the issue and determine the best course of action.

Nvidia’s Alpamayo is designed as a “large-scale teacher model,” allowing developers to refine their self-driving technology effectively. Companies such as Lucid, Uber, and Berkeley DeepDrive have expressed interest in incorporating Alpamayo into their systems. This development comes at a time when self-driving vehicles are becoming increasingly prevalent on roads worldwide, with Google’s Waymo leading the charge. However, challenges remain, as some autonomous cars have struggled to navigate complex scenarios, leading to traffic disruptions.

In response, Nvidia has proposed virtual training as a viable approach to further enhance the capabilities of AI models, enabling developers to advance their self-driving technologies without the constant need for road testing.

With these innovative strides, Nvidia is not only pushing the boundaries of robotics and AI but also envisioning a future where intelligent machines can coexist and operate alongside humans, making significant contributions to various sectors.
