Clicks Technology is making waves at CES 2026 with the announcement of its innovative device, the Clicks Communicator, which draws inspiration from the iconic BlackBerry smartphones of the early 2010s. This retro-styled device aims to complement existing smartphones rather than compete with the likes of Apple’s iPhone or Samsung’s Galaxy series.

With a focus on practicality, the Clicks Communicator is designed to reduce the distractions associated with modern smartphones. Carrying the tagline “doing, not doomscrolling,” Clicks envisions the device as a tool for enhanced communication and productivity. In fact, the company noted an increasing trend of users carrying secondary phones for privacy or to maintain boundaries in their digital lives.

Priced at $499, the Communicator connects seamlessly to users’ primary phones, allowing them to receive emails and text messages directly on the device. Jeff Gadway, Clicks’ chief marketing officer, likens the Communicator’s role to that of a Kindle for iPad users—an optimized, standalone product tailored for a specific purpose.

Among its features, the Communicator boasts a touch-sensitive keyboard that enables users to scroll through messages, voice recording capabilities, a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 24-megapixel front camera. Other practical components include a 3.5mm headphone jack, airplane mode switch, expandable microSD storage, a physical SIM tray, and eSIM compatibility. Running on Android 16, the Communicator measures 131.5mm in height and weighs 170 grams.

Available in three subdued colors, with interchangeable backs for additional customization, interested consumers can leave a reservation deposit of $199. Alternatively, an early bird price of $299 offers a $100 discount from the launch price, with an expected release date set for later this year.

In addition to the Communicator, Clicks also unveiled the Power Keyboard, which connects to smartphones via MagSafe or Qi2 magnetic technology. Designed to resemble the lower half of a BlackBerry, this keyboard offers a nostalgic typing experience for users, complete with old-school buttons. Priced at $79, it can accommodate smartphones of varying sizes and is expected to be available in the spring.

Kevin Michaluk, President of Clicks, emphasized the convenience of the Power Keyboard, highlighting its compatibility with not just smartphones, but also tablets, smart TVs, and even AR and VR environments. The Clicks Communicator and Power Keyboard together present a thoughtful approach to integrating wireless technology with an emphasis on communication and functionality, reinforcing a shift towards a more focused digital experience.
