Numerous school systems across Central Virginia have announced a 2-hour delay for Monday due to anticipated weather conditions.

Albemarle County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay, with 12-month employees expected to report at their regular time. Similarly, Augusta County, Buckingham County, and Greene County Public Schools have implemented the same delay.

Charlottesville City Schools will also begin two hours later, cancelling zero period classes at Charlottesville Middle and High Schools, along with the morning session at CATEC. The afternoon session for CATEC will proceed as scheduled starting at 1:25 PM. Additionally, the 12-month staff will experience the same delay.

In other announcements, Culpeper County Public Schools and Harrisonburg City Schools are also adopting the 2-hour delay policy, while essential personnel and custodians at Culpeper County are required to report on time.

Other institutions adjusting their opening hours include Elk Hill School in Charlottesville and Staunton, Fluvanna County Public Schools, and Waynesboro City Schools, all operating with a 2-hour delay.

Notably, the First Presbyterian Church Preschool in Charlottesville will remain closed on Monday, while Lighthouse Christians Preschool and KEYS Academy in Charlottesville will also see a delayed start.

Further delays have been reported at schools in Louisa County, Madison County, Nelson County, and Rockingham County, as well as the Town of Gordonsville Government, which will open two hours later. Oakland School will have a delayed opening, set to start at 10 AM.

This coordinated effort demonstrates a collective commitment from the various school systems to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff during inclement weather, reflecting a proactive approach in managing weather-related disruptions.
