Central Texas is experiencing a mild start to the week, with temperatures expected to reach the low to mid 70s this afternoon as skies clear. The warmer weather will make a return in the middle of the week, promising more pleasant conditions.

This morning began cool, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s, and areas of humidity created fog, particularly along and east of I-35. As the day progresses, fog is expected to transition into low cloud cover, which may persist for a while but will eventually yield to bursts of sunshine. Winds are forecasted to blow from the southwest at speeds of 10 to 20 mph.

Looking ahead, a shift in weather patterns is anticipated, with warmer westerly winds helping temperatures rise closer to the 80s midweek. However, a storm system is expected to approach Central Texas by the end of the week, potentially bringing showers and storms on Thursday and Friday, although significant rainfall isn’t forecasted. Following the passage of this system, a cooler trend will return, with weekend highs dropping into the 50s and lows reaching the 30s.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the mild weather while it lasts, as the forecast indicates a notable change coming. Have a wonderful Monday!
