HOUSTON – 713 Day, a cherished Houston tradition celebrating the city’s unique culture, food, music, and art, is set for another exciting year on July 13. The event, named after Houston’s original area code, serves as a vibrant showcase of what makes Houston special, even as the area code itself has changed over time.

This year promises an especially thrilling lineup of citywide events for 713 Day. One major highlight will be the Houston Astros taking on the Texas Rangers, presenting fans an opportunity to wear their favorite Houston attire while cheering for their beloved baseball team.

Adding to the festivities, Meow Wolf is teaming up with Saint Arnold to host a block party featuring food, music, art, and live performances from noon to 4 PM on July 13. While no tickets are needed for the outdoor festivities, those wishing to explore the complete exhibit at Meow Wolf can purchase tickets ahead of time.

Culinary enthusiasts will also get a treat from Latin Restaurant Weeks, running from July 11-25, where more than 30 local restaurants and food trucks will offer delicious special menus. This event celebrates the rich flavors and influences of Latin cuisine in Houston, featuring eateries such as Mamajuana Cafe and Gaspachos.

Further enhancing the celebrations, Axelrad will host an event packed with entertainment, including a live DJ, food trucks, a car show, and live art from 5 PM to 11 PM on 713 Day. Comedy lovers can enjoy performances by local comedians at Punch Line Houston.

For a musical experience, the River Oaks Theatre will host a performance by international Hip-Hop Violinist Josh Vietti, along with tributes to Houston’s vibrant Hip-Hop scene, all under the guidance of DJ Kiotti from 93.7 The Beat.

The Houston Zoo is also joining in on the festivities by offering a special $7.13 general admission price, a significant reduction from regular ticket prices. Additionally, leading up to 713 Day, the Heights Bier Garten will celebrate with a Summer Bash on July 12, featuring various games and food options.

For those looking to give back, the Houston Food Bank will hold a “713 Day” volunteer shift from 1 PM to 4 PM, culminating in a celebration of community and culture.

Families can enjoy a “Dino Party” at the Houston Children’s Museum on July 13, including interactive activities and a preview of Jurassic Quest’s live show set for August. Lastly, for those watching the Astros game from home, Christian’s Tailgate will offer affordable drink specials and nostalgic game-day foods to enhance the viewing experience.
