CeeDee Lamb Strikes Gold: Record-Breaking Deal with Cowboys!

The Dallas Cowboys have announced a multiyear contract agreement with star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, which is reported to be a four-year deal worth $136 million. This makes Lamb, a three-time Pro Bowler, the second-highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, with $100 million guaranteed.

Lamb held out during training camp and the Cowboys’ three preseason games while seeking a new contract. Entering the fifth year of his original rookie deal, which he signed in 2017 as the 17th overall pick, he is now secured under contract until 2028.

The negotiations between Lamb and the Cowboys had at times appeared challenging. In early August, team owner Jerry Jones stated there was “no urgency” to finalize a deal, prompting a lighthearted response from Lamb on social media.

Lamb has been a key player for the Cowboys, participating in every game over the last four seasons. Last year, he achieved career highs with 135 receptions, 1,749 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns, setting franchise records for the first two statistics. In the playoffs, he contributed significantly with nine catches for 110 yards in Dallas’ sole postseason game.

Throughout his career, Lamb has amassed a total of 395 receptions, 5,145 receiving yards, and 32 touchdowns.

With Lamb’s contract settled, the Cowboys are now likely to focus on securing a new deal for quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott is entering the last year of his contract and cannot be franchise-tagged, leaving the possibility that he may become a free agent if a new agreement isn’t reached.

The Cowboys’ regular season is set to commence on September 8 against the Cleveland Browns.
