CBS Prepares for NFL Season: A Star-Studded Commentary Lineup Unveiled!

As the 2025 NFL season approaches, fans will be pleased to see some recognizable faces back on CBS, as the network prepares for its 66th year of NFL coverage.

Jim Nantz returns as the play-by-play announcer for CBS’s top team, alongside analyst Tony Romo and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson, marking their ninth consecutive season together. This dynamic trio will be at the forefront of major CBS broadcasts, including the much-anticipated Thanksgiving game in Dallas featuring a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys.

CBS has also assembled four additional announcer teams, enhancing their coverage with a variety of expert voices:

– Ian Eagle will lead with analyst JJ Watt, who has transitioned from “The NFL Today” to the booth this season, joined by sideline reporter Evan Washburn.
– The pairing of Kevin Harlan and Trent Green returns with Melanie Collins reporting from the sidelines.
– Andrew Catalon will be joined by Charles Davis and Jason McCourty, with AJ Ross providing sideline insights.
– Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta will work together, accompanied by Aditi Kinkhabwala on the sidelines.

Additionally, Beth Mowins and Chris Lewis are set to commentate select games, while two-time Super Bowl champion Logan Ryan will contribute as an analyst for specific matchups. Other notable sideline reporters this season include Amanda Balionis, Tiffany Blackmon, Tom McCarthy, and Ross Tucker.

Interestingly, Watt’s move to the booth reflects a significant career shift, bringing his on-field expertise to a new audience. Meanwhile, James Brown will continue to anchor “The NFL Today” show from New York, supported by seasoned analysts like Bill Cowher, Nate Burleson, and Matt Ryan. Gene Steratore will also return as a rules analyst, enhancing viewers’ understanding of key game moments.

The first round of CBS games is set to commence on Sunday, September 7, featuring matchups such as the Steelers at Jets, Lions at Packers, and Texans at Rams.
