Sony Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming black comedy “Caught Stealing,” directed by the acclaimed Darren Aronofsky, known for his groundbreaking film “Requiem for a Dream.” The film is set to hit UK cinemas on August 29, 2025.
The plot follows Hank Thompson, portrayed by Austin Butler, a former high-school baseball star who is navigating life after a career-ending injury. While he is doing well with a promising relationship with his girlfriend, played by Zoë Kravitz, and a job tending bar in a lively New York dive, his life takes an unexpected turn. When his punk-rock neighbor Russ, played by Matt Smith, asks Hank to cat-sit, he unwittingly gets embroiled with a group of dangerous gangsters, all of whom seem to want something from him, although he remains clueless about the reason.
As the tension escalates, Hank must rely on his street smarts and resolve to survive long enough to uncover the truth surrounding his new predicament.
In addition to Butler, the film features a stellar cast including Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Benito A Martínez Ocasio, and Carol Kane. Written by Charlie Huston and based on his book, “Caught Stealing” promises a thrilling blend of humor and suspense.
