On Friday, November 8th, the Catalan Handball Federation celebrated FC Barcelona during the 31st annual Fiesta of Catalan Handball. The club’s director of the handball section, Joan Solé, accepted the award on behalf of FC Barcelona, acknowledging the impressive achievements of the first team, which secured multiple titles during the 2023/24 season. These include prestigious honors such as the Champions League, Liga ASOBAL, Copa del Rey, Copa Asobal, Supercopa Ibérica, and Supercopa de Catalunya. Additionally, the youth teams’ accomplishments were also recognized.
The event also paid tribute to players Aleix Gómez and Petar Cikusa for their remarkable bronze medal achievement at the Paris Olympic Games. Other honorees included Petar Cikusa, Djorde Cikusa, Ian Barrufet, and Òscar Grau, who were celebrated as Junior European Champions.
The ceremony took place at the Les Moreres Municipal Sports Complex in Esplugues de Llobregat, drawing an audience of nearly 400 attendees, underscoring the strong community support for handball in the region.
