On November 8, the Catalan Handball Federation celebrated FC Barcelona during the 31st edition of the Fiesta of Catalan Handball. Joan Solé, the club’s director for the handball section, received an award representing the team’s impressive accomplishments during the 2023/24 season. FC Barcelona’s first team secured six significant titles, including the Champions League, Liga ASOBAL, Copa del Rey, Copa Asobal, Supercopa Ibérica, and Supercopa de Catalunya. The awards also recognized the achievements of the youth teams.
In addition to FC Barcelona’s accolades, players Aleix Gómez and Petar Cikusa were honored for their remarkable performance, winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games. Furthermore, Petar Cikusa, Djorde Cikusa, Ian Barrufet, and Òscar Grau were celebrated as Junior European Champions.
The festivities unfolded at the Les Moreres Municipal Sports Complex in Esplugues de Llobregat, with an impressive turnout of nearly 400 attendees. This event not only highlights the success of individual players and teams but also underscores the vibrant spirit of handball in Catalonia.
