Manchester United has confirmed that midfielder Casemiro will depart the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this season. The 33-year-old Brazilian joined the team from Real Madrid for a fee of £70 million in 2022, during which he has made a total of 146 appearances.

Casemiro played a pivotal role in Manchester United’s success, notably scoring the opening goal during the 2023 Carabao Cup final, leading them to victory over Newcastle. He contributed to a solid third-place finish for the club in his inaugural season.

However, his future at the club has been questioned following comments from new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who indicated that some players were “not good enough” and “overpaid.” Despite this uncertainty, Casemiro expressed his deep attachment to Manchester United, stating, “I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life.” He emphasized that it is not yet time for farewell, as he looks forward to creating more memories in the coming months. “We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club to succeed,” he added.

As Manchester United continues to push for success this season, the focus remains on the goals ahead, with Casemiro committed to contributing positively while he is still part of the team.
