The Casablanca Municipal Council convened on Thursday for its regular February session, led by President Nabila Rmili. The agenda focused on adopting several partnership agreements aimed at bolstering key projects in health, social services, culture, environment, and infrastructure.
Significant health projects include the reconstruction and equipping of the Arrazi Psychiatric Hospital in Médiouna and the establishment of a new hospital in the Moulay Rachid prefecture. These initiatives underscore the council’s commitment to improving healthcare access in the region.
On the social front, the council approved a multi-stakeholder partnership to launch a socio-professional center in Hay Hassani, dedicated to supporting and integrating young people with disabilities. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance social inclusion and create opportunities for marginalized groups.
Additionally, the session confirmed plans for the rehabilitation of the municipal library in Aïn Sbaâ as well as a second phase of restoration for the city’s artistic infrastructures. In terms of mobility improvements, two projects were approved: enhancing the road network in the Sidi Bernoussi industrial zone and upgrading the AC 119 boulevard in Aïn Chock.
Other key decisions included transferring the management of the Aïn Sbaâ Zoo to Casablanca Ressources and making the Younes Mosque available to the Ministry of Habous. Financially, the municipality will receive a grant of 500,000 dirhams from Bloomberg Philanthropies to support youth initiatives related to climate action. However, some agenda items were postponed to the next meeting scheduled for February 13.
These developments reflect Casablanca’s proactive stance on various important issues, creating opportunities for community development and infrastructural enhancement while fostering a sense of partnership among local entities and stakeholders.
