Cardinals’ Concerns Rise as Harrison Leaves Game with Injury

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. exited the team’s 34-13 defeat against the Green Bay Packers in the second quarter due to a concussion and did not return. Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon was uncertain about the extent of Harrison’s concussion after the game.

Quarterback Kyler Murray expressed disappointment over losing Harrison, calling it “unfortunate.” He stated, “For me, it’s just continue to play my game, continue to execute what [offensive coordinator] Drew [Petzing] calls. But, obviously, you don’t want to lose your guy out there. But we got to, obviously, keep playing the game.”

Harrison’s injury occurred with 6:28 remaining in the second quarter when he collided with the thigh of Packers linebacker Isaiah McDuffie after an incomplete pass. He was assisted off the field by trainers, evaluated in the blue injury tent, and was subsequently escorted to the locker room by medical staff.

He was officially ruled out shortly after the start of the second half. On the day of the game, Harrison did not record any catches despite being targeted twice.

His absence significantly impacted the Cardinals’ offense, as highlighted by running back Emari Demercado. He noted, “It’s a big part of our offense. That takes away a big threat. But we just got to keep operating. There’s things we can control and things we can’t. That’s something we can’t, so we just got to keep playing. [Wide receiver] Mike [Wilson] made plays, [tight end] Trey [McBride] made plays. Everybody’s just got to step up and make plays.”
