Cardi B has made headlines by sharing an alleged text exchange with the woman who accused her boyfriend, NFL star Stefon Diggs, of strangling and assaulting her. The message, which was posted in a now-deleted post on X, includes the alleged victim apologizing and denying the accusations, stating that she did not say those things “especially in the way it was written.” She advised Cardi to contact her mediator for further information, and did so under the condition that communication would be in person.
The incident at the center of the controversy reportedly involved the woman, who previously worked as Diggs’ personal chef. She accused the New England Patriots wide receiver of choking her and throwing her onto a bed over a financial disagreement. In response to the allegations, Cardi expressed her frustration, arguing that the woman never directly told her about any physical assault, and stated her intention to allow the legal system to sort out the matter.
Diggs, 32, faced charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault following the allegations that surfaced on December 30, stemming from an incident believed to have occurred in early December. The police report indicated that the accuser thought she had received messages from Diggs’ girlfriend, urging her to downplay the situation.
Following the emergence of these allegations, Diggs’s attorney categorically denied the claims, referring to them as unsubstantiated and suggesting they stem from unresolved financial disputes between an employer and employee. The New England Patriots have expressed their support for Diggs, emphasizing their commitment to cooperate fully with any investigations.
As the NFL season continues, Diggs is set to play in the upcoming Wild Card Round against the Los Angeles Chargers on January 11, with the Patriots standing by him amid the legal turmoil. The couple, Cardi B and Diggs, recently welcomed their first child together, hoping to navigate these challenging circumstances as they focus on their family and future.
