Recalling how she expressed her unease during a previous meet-and-greet, Cardi stated, “I felt a lot of hate coming from different angles, and today, I see that I’m still proving that.” She attributed some of this negativity to social media bloggers, past relationships of her partner, and even enemies within the music industry, mentioning how some have wished ill upon her during this special time.
The reference to “partners” seems to point toward her ex-husband Offset, who recently released his project Haunted by Fame, which includes lyrics that appear to hint at Cardi and their complicated history. In a particular track titled “No Sweat,” Offset raps about tumultuous relationships and personal struggles, but Cardi chose not to name him directly in her responses.
Nonetheless, she delivered a resounding message to those wishing for her downfall, expressing her belief that karma eventually catches up with her detractors. “I swear to God, anybody that messes with me while I’m at my most vulnerable — and my most vulnerable is always when I’m pregnant — God always punishes them,” she asserted confidently.
