Cannes Fireworks Festival Goes Green: A New Era of Pyrotechnics!

The renowned Festival International d’Art Pyrotechnique in Cannes has transitioned to private funding, ensuring that public taxpayers bear no financial burden. This funding model, implemented by the municipality, utilizes the revenue generated from the Palais des Festivals and Congress, derived from various professional events and exhibitions.

In a significant move towards sustainability, the city of Cannes is committed to making this fireworks festival eco-friendly. Actions include using environmentally friendly materials, eliminating aluminum and plastics, thoroughly cleaning the beaches and marine areas, optimizing logistics, preserving beach sand, and enhancing public transportation services. These measures are part of the city’s broader goal to create a more sustainable event.

This year’s festival is scheduled for July 22 and August 5, 15, and 24 at 10 PM. Fireworks experts from Sweden, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, and France will showcase their creativity in a bid to win the prestigious Vestale d’Or award during these spectacular pyro-musical performances.

For those wanting to catch the fireworks, there are several prime viewing spots around Cannes. Additionally, the firework displays can be streamed online, with live audio coverage available on Cannes Radio at 91.5 FM.

The public is encouraged to participate in a contest by voting for their favorite firework display on the festival’s official website, www.festival-pyrotechnique-cannes.com. The audience’s choice will be honored with the Prix du Public, awarded to the most impressive display.

The festival not only promises breathtaking entertainment but also emphasizes community involvement and environmental responsibility, making it a truly holistic celebration of artistry and sustainability.
