Ratu Viliame Seruvakula, the Chair of the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC), has addressed the ongoing discussions about the relevance of the GCC in modern Fijian society, asserting that such queries are disconnected from reality. Since its re-establishment in 2023, the GCC has been at the center of debates regarding its significance and role.
In his defense of the institution, Ratu Viliame stressed that the GCC occupies a critical position within the iTaukei Administration.
