With total destruction exceeding 35,000 acres, the Palisades fire has consumed over 20,000 acres and is currently only about 8% contained. The Eaton fire, reported to have taken at least five lives and burned nearly 14,000 acres, has a slightly better containment score of 3%. Notably, the Lidia fire near Acton has achieved more than 75% containment.
High winds forecasted to reach up to 60 mph pose a critical risk to the firefighting efforts, with a red flag warning issued until evening. Approximately 180,000 individuals have evacuated their homes, and an additional 200,000 are under precautionary evacuation alerts. With over 220,000 residents without power in Southern California, the situation remains dire.
In a further complication, erroneous evacuation alerts were sent to over 10 million residents, leading to confusion among the community. Despite this, LA County Emergency Manager Kevin McGowan has encouraged residents to maintain their emergency alerts active for real-time updates.

A troubling incident occurred when a firefighting aircraft collided with a drone, resulting in damage that grounded the plane. Authorities continue to investigate reports of suspected arson related to the Kenneth fire, though one individual is being held on a probation violation.
