A Powerball player from Northern California came within one number of winning the jackpot, yet still celebrated a substantial victory of $702,000 in the latest draw held on Wednesday night, according to the California Lottery.
The fortunate ticket, which matched the first five numbers, was purchased at DeJacks Country Store located at 105 Second St. in Isleton, a small city in Sacramento County, near the Bay Area. The winning numbers for Wednesday’s $449 million draw were 15, 27, 43, 45, and 53, with the Powerball number being 9.
Although there were no jackpot winners in this multi-state draw, the prize pool has now rolled over and is estimated to reach $482 million for Saturday’s draw.
In addition to the Powerball excitement, there was also a local winner in the Superlotto Plus draw, where a ticket matching all five numbers was sold at Charter Liquors in Fremont, bringing in a prize of $35,700. The winning Superlotto Plus numbers were 1, 15, 28, 30, and 35, with a Mega number of 19.
This news highlights the ongoing thrill of lottery games, showing that significant wins can still happen, even if players miss out on the jackpot. Such results often keep lottery enthusiasts hopeful and engaged for future draws.
