Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever will miss her second straight game due to a left groin injury, as confirmed ahead of the team’s matchup against the Dallas Wings. This news was first reported by IndyStar’s Nathan Baird.
Previously, Clark had also sat out the Fever’s 85-75 defeat to the Los Angeles Sparks due to the same injury. Fever coach Stephanie White remarked that Clark’s status is currently “day-to-day,” noting that she had informed the training staff of her discomfort just before the game against the Sparks.
Clark, who was recognized as WNBA’s Rookie of the Year last season, had suffered a quad injury earlier in the season, which caused her to miss nearly three weeks and five games from late May to early June. During that time, the Fever managed to win only two out of five games, coinciding with a notable 55% drop in WNBA television ratings, as reported by USA TODAY.
On her return to the court on June 14, Clark showcased her skills with a standout performance, scoring 32 points and recording nine assists in a victory over the Liberty. However, she has faced challenges in her recent games, averaging only 12 points and shooting 26.5% from the field over the last three outings, alongside committing 22 turnovers. While she has excelled in facilitating plays with an average of 9.3 assists in that period, her struggles beyond the arc are evident, making only 1 out of 23 three-point attempts.
Looking ahead, the Fever’s upcoming games include a match against the Minnesota Lynx on July 1 and hosting the Las Vegas Aces on July 3, both of which will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Caitlin Clark’s impressive stats from the season highlight her scoring ability, with averages of 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists over 40 games in 2024, and 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists over nine games in 2025.
While the Fever face challenges, Clark’s determination and the team’s upcoming games provide hope for a turnaround and continued excitement for the fans.
