Caitlin Clark, the standout rookie guard for the Indiana Fever, came close to matching her season-high in points during a thrilling 100-93 comeback victory over the Dallas Wings. This win reflects the Fever’s improving form, as they have now secured four consecutive victories and surpassed the .500 mark with a 17-16 record.

Clark scored 28 points, while her teammate Kelsey Mitchell shone brightly with a career-high 36 points. Clark began the game relatively slow by her own standards, tallying only five points in the first quarter and a half. Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale excelled in the first half, hitting five 3-pointers in the opening quarter and ending the half with 24 points.

Despite her slow start, Clark made her mark in Indiana Fever history by scoring her 595th point of the season, which set a new franchise record for the most points scored in a single season by a rookie, previously held by Tamika Catchings. Ogunbowale would match a single-game WNBA record with nine 3-pointers, but it was Clark who, along with the Fever, stepped up in the fourth quarter. Indiana outscored Dallas 30-19 during this decisive period, with Clark contributing two deep 3-pointers that sparked the team’s success.

This impressive performance follows Clark’s 31-point game against the Chicago Sky just one game prior, marking a historic moment as the Fever scored 100 or more points in back-to-back games for the first time in franchise history.

In 37 minutes of play against the Wings, Clark shot 10-of-19, including 5-of-11 from three-point range. She also recorded four rebounds, 12 assists, and one steal, achieving her 12th double-double of the season, despite committing seven turnovers.
