Caitlin Clark Makes History with All-WNBA First Team Honor

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has been selected for the 2024 All-WNBA First Team, as announced by the league today. Clark garnered 52 First Team votes from a national panel comprising 67 sportswriters and broadcasters. She now joins Tamika Catchings, a seven-time recipient of All-WNBA First Team honors, as the only players in the franchise’s history to achieve this recognition. Additionally, Clark was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year on October 3 and the Associated Press Rookie of the Year on September 22.

Remarkably, Clark is the first rookie to earn a spot on the All-WNBA First Team since Candace Parker in 2008 and only the fifth rookie to receive this honor since 2000, following the footsteps of Sue Bird (2002), Catchings (2002), and Diana Taurasi (2004).

In this year’s First Team lineup, Clark is joined by unanimous selections Napheesa Collier and A’ja Wilson, along with Breanna Stewart and Alyssa Thomas.

The selection process for the All-WNBA Team took place at the end of the regular season. Players were chosen without consideration to their positions, earning five points for each First Team vote and three points for each Second Team vote. To celebrate their achievements, members of the All-WNBA First Team will receive $10,300 each, while those on the Second Team will receive $5,150.
