Caitlin Clark Brings Star Power to The Annika Pro-Am on Golf Channel

Caitlin Clark is set to draw significant attention this week as she returns to participate in the LPGA’s prestigious The Annika pro-am event. The Golf Channel, recognizing Clark’s immense popularity, will provide live, on-site coverage of her round on Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m. ET. The coverage will take place at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, where Clark will be paired with World No. 2 and defending champion Nelly Korda, who has claimed victory in three of the past four Annika tournaments.

Hosted by legendary golfer Annika Sorenstam, The Annika serves as the final full-field regular-season event for the LPGA Tour in the 2025 season. Golf Channel’s coverage promises not only to showcase Clark’s performance but also includes live interviews with her teammates from the Indiana Fever, Lexie Hull and Sophie Cunningham, who will caddie for her. Additionally, viewers can expect insights from Sorenstam and Korda during the broadcast.

This event illustrates the growing intersection between women’s sports and media, highlighted by a unique cross-promotion where Kate Scott, USA Network’s lead WNBA play-by-play announcer, will be featured in Golf Channel’s coverage. Earlier this year, the WNBA announced an 11-year media rights agreement with USA Network, ensuring extensive coverage for WNBA games, including regular season matches and playoff events.

Reflecting on her previous appearance at The Annika, Clark expressed enthusiasm about returning to the course. “I had an amazing time at The Annika last November and participating in the Pro-Am alongside Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam, two of the best in the game,” said Clark. She also highlighted her pride in being an ambassador for Gainbridge, a company dedicated to promoting women’s sports.

In addition to Wednesday’s pro-am, Golf Channel is set to provide further live coverage of The Annika on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, followed by Saturday’s coverage from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. ET, and wrapping up with Sunday’s final round from 2 to 4 p.m. ET.

Clark’s presence is anticipated to attract large crowds and significant viewership, similar to last year’s event, where thousands turned out in support of the celebrated women’s basketball star. This reflects a growing recognition and appreciation for women’s sports, both on the field and in media representation.
