BYU vs. Baylor: A Taste of Conference Rivalry Awaits

BYU Football is set to play its first away game of the conference season on Saturday morning, facing off against the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas.

The BYU Cougars, boasting a record of 4-0, have moved up to 22nd in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll after previously being unranked. This ranking improvement comes after their impressive victory last week against Kansas State, where they defeated the then 13th-ranked Wildcats 38-9 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.

The Baylor Bears, now 2-2 for the season, experienced a tough loss in their first official conference game, falling to Colorado 38-31 in overtime. Prior to that, they secured a win against Air Force and lost to Utah, though that game was not considered an official conference matchup.

This Saturday marks the fifth meeting between BYU and Baylor, but it will be the first time they compete as conference rivals. BYU won their last encounter in 2022, tying the series at 2-2.
