Provo Police announced Thursday evening that BYU basketball player Kennard Davis was arrested for suspected DUI following a crash in Provo. According to the police report, officers responded to the incident around 11:45 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the intersection of 900 W Center Street. During their investigation, they determined there was sufficient cause to arrest the 20-year-old athlete for DUI offenses.

Davis was taken to the Provo Police Station for further investigation and subsequently cited for DUI. After being treated for minor injuries, he was released, and his vehicle was impounded. The police report did not specify the substance involved in the DUI suspicion.

In response to the incident, BYU issued a statement acknowledging the allegations and indicated that they are reviewing the situation. The BYU basketball team had just arrived in Boston Thursday evening in preparation for their game against UConn on Saturday at 7 PM. It’s worth noting that Davis had missed a previous game against Delaware due to achilles soreness, which led to Dawson Baker starting in his place. Davis had transferred to BYU in the offseason after previously playing for Southern Illinois, where he showcased his talent for two seasons.

This incident raises concerns about the impact on Davis’s career and the upcoming games for the BYU basketball team. As the situation develops, both college basketball fans and the BYU community will be closely monitoring the outcome of the investigation and any ramifications for Davis’s playing future. It serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible choices and the possible consequences athletes face both on and off the court.
