Burden’s Brilliance Propels Missouri to Victory Over Boston College

Luther Burden III showcased his exceptional skills as No. 6-ranked Missouri football earned a narrow 27-21 victory over No. 24-ranked Boston College on Saturday at a sold-out Memorial Stadium in Columbia. The game showed the Tigers pulling through with a bit of Burden magic and crucial plays at key moments.

With just seconds left in the first half and trailing by a touchdown, Burden executed an impressive 19-yard touchdown run. He dodged tackles and powered through defenders. Following the touchdown, Missouri converted a two-point attempt, allowing Nate Noel to carry the ball across the line.

The pivotal score came shortly after safety Tre’Vez Johnson intercepted Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos, shifting the game’s momentum. By halftime, placekicker Blake Craig scored a 55-yard field goal that put Missouri ahead.

Missouri’s offense gained momentum as quarterback Brady Cook had a notable run for a touchdown at the start of the second half. The Tigers, now 3-0, continued their success despite struggling earlier in the game with self-inflicted mistakes and defensive lapses.

Before Burden’s touchdown, Boston College (now 2-1) was in control, taking a two-score lead on a 67-yard touchdown pass from Castellanos to Reed Harris. The Eagles also made history by scoring the first points against Missouri’s defense this season.

Cook ended the game completing 21 of 30 passes for 264 yards, while Burden led the receiving corps with six catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Missouri proved strong against Boston College, passing a tough test in their early season.
