Bula FC is in the midst of a demanding two-week training camp at the Fiji Football Academy in Ba, gearing up for the inaugural OFC Professional League set to commence in January. Head coach Stephane Auvray highlighted that the training regimen is focused on developing robust athleticism and technical skills essential for competing at the professional level.

The team is engaged in rigorous training sessions twice a day, with a significant emphasis on endurance running. Auvray stresses that building stamina is vital for players to maintain competitiveness throughout the season. Many players have reported feeling sore as they adapt to the heightened workload, which Auvray acknowledges is a challenging transition.

“The players are adapting, but they are tired. The running is quite painful for them,” he remarked, underscoring the importance of perseverance during this tough training phase. He has communicated to the squad that the hard work put in now will yield dividends when the lengthy OFC season begins.

As the team looks ahead, Auvray noted that by February and March, they should have developed the necessary endurance and the ability to consistently perform at high levels. He is also excited by the professionalism exhibited by his players, who, despite needing occasional reminders, are showing a strong commitment to improving their game.

Bula FC will face United FC of Vanuatu in their opening match of the OFC Pro League on January 17, which will take place at Eden Park. The anticipation for the new league is high, and with their rigorous preparation, Bula FC is looking to make a strong impression from the outset. The dedication shown during this training camp is promising, setting a solid foundation for a competitive season ahead.
